NATASHA DESAI

Art for me is a representation of my being, my experiences and most importantly – it is a form of self-expression. It is my one on one connection with my audience.

Mosaic art requires patience, dedication and a mind which is open to experimentation. There are no boundaries for a mosaic artist when choosing the tesserae or the substrate.  The metamorphosis from start to finish of a mosaic project is magical. It’s a bit like polishing a raw
piece of carbon, arduous but extremely rewarding!

My strength is my versatility.  I use glass tiles, stained glass, smalti, stones, wood and metal to design my pieces.  I have not restricted myself to any one form of mosaic – I have done traditional borders for tables, flora, portraits, abstracts and many more styles. I continue to diversify my subject range to push the boundaries of what I can communicate through my art.
